Why Is There No Cold Air Coming Out Of My Vents?

If you are having problems feeling the air coming out of your home's vents you will be surprised to know that there are several reasons why you may not be experiencing a good flow. It may be something as simple as you needing to change your air filter. A dirty air filter will block the circulation of the air in your home and cause a low output from your vents. It can also cause your unit to work harder and longer increasing your utility costs.

Poor air flow can also be due to poor ductwork. Your duct work may have holes or tears in it where the air is leaking out instead of flowing into your home. Your ductwork may also be too small for the unit that is in your home or to provide the correct amount of air for the size of your home. You may simply not have enough return ducts in your home to supply that amount of air that it needs in order to ensure that it is able to stay cool.

Like any other thing around your home, your vents need to be cleaned. Dirt and dust can build up in them and cause blocking that prevents the good flow of air that your unit needs in order to produce its best. If you have signs of dust blowing from you vents then you know it is time to have them cleaned. Making sure that all dampers are opened as wide as possible can also help your vents to work better and to keep your home more comfortable.

You may require professional services in order to take care of the need of your air vents so that you are sure that they are serviced correctly in order to perform their best.
