Another HVAC company in town—large company—came to diagnose an issue with a 10-year-old furnace. They said we needed a new furnace due to a crack in the primary exchanger. When I asked to see the rivet, he showed a picture of a “stress crack on a rivet.” They slapped a red tag on the furnace and said not to use it because of the carbon monoxide risk. Started showing us new furnaces with monthly payment schedules and said, “I have one reserved for you for Monday.” Used car salesman. The issue ended up being a thermostat problem. Called Vander Hyde on rec from a friend. Gavin came out and said the furnace was 100% fine—some corrosion but nothing wrong with the system. Showed me everything he was looking at, including the rivet the other company flagged. DO NOT USE ANYBODY ELSE but Vander Hyde. No joke.
