Residential HVAC Service Technician
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions to our valued customers. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems, ensuring optimal comfort and energy efficiency. Your broad expertise in mechanical systems, plumbing, and electrical components will drive your success as you troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced field service environment where your technical skills and customer service talents will shine.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, and boilers.
• Possess the ability to interpret schematics or technical manuals to accurately identify issues and determine appropriate repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure peak performance and extend system lifespan.
• Install new HVAC systems following manufacturer specifications and safety standards while coordinating with property owners.
• Utilize specialized tools such as ohmmeters, manometers, and refrigerant recovery machines to complete repairs efficiently.
• Conduct property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems, including plumbing connections and appliance repairs if necessary.
• Maintain detailed service records, including inspection reports, repair logs, and parts used for each job.
Qualifications
• 2+ years proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related fields such as construction, plumbing, refrigeration, or mechanical maintenance.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles.
• Type II EPA Certification or Universal EPA.
• Hands-on experience with equipment repair involving refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, air conditioning units, and appliances.
• Familiarity with field service procedures for property maintenance and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, manometers, and perform brazing or basic mechanical repairs confidently.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
• Knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration), ammonia refrigeration systems, and electrical components is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication abilities to explain technical issues clearly to homeowners.
Compensation
• $28.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience.

The Residential Service HVAC Manager oversees the daily operations of a residential HVAC service division. This role is responsible for managing technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and driving profitability through efficient scheduling, customer satisfaction, and team development.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership, communication, and business management skills.
Responsibilities
• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of residential HVAC service technicians and apprentices.
• Plan, schedule, and dispatch service calls to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure all work complies with state and local codes along with all company safety regulations.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching, and training for team members.
• Oversee troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of complex HVAC issues.
• Manage inventory, tools, and materials to ensure technicians are properly equipped.
• Monitor job costs, labor hours, and departmental profitability.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve service quality, productivity, and revenue.

Qualifications
